Square Enix has been steadily releasing a series of compact-sized music boxes, each representing iconic themes from nearly all main Final Fantasy titles. These 18-note music boxes play melodies fans know and love, offering a unique way to experience the music of the franchise.
Made from acrylic resin, iron, and zinc alloy, the boxes are around 6cm x 5cm x 4cm in size, perfect for displaying or gifting.
Here’s a list of tracks that have been released so far:
- Final Fantasy I: Opening Theme
- Final Fantasy II: Main Theme
- Final Fantasy III: Crystal Tower
- Final Fantasy IV: Theme of Love
- Final Fantasy V: Home, Sweet Home
- Final Fantasy VI: Searching for Friends
- Final Fantasy VII: Main Theme of Final Fantasy, On Our Way, Aerith's Theme and Tifa's Theme – Seventh Heaven
- Final Fantasy VIII: Love Grows
- Final Fantasy IX: Melodies of Life
- Final Fantasy X: Suteki Da Ne and Zanarkand
- Final Fantasy XI: Music Box Set (Ronfaure / Gustaberg / Sarutabaruta)
- Final Fantasy XIII: The Promise
- Final Fantasy XIV: Night in the Brume, Torn from the Heavens, Mortal Instants and Flow
- Final Fantasy XV: Valse di Fantastica
It’s an impressive list, but two titles are missing... Where are the music boxes for Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy XVI? While I can understand Final Fantasy XVI being left out for now since it’s the newest title, leaving out Final Fantasy XII is unacceptable! The collection just doesn’t feel complete without it.
What tracks from Final Fantasy XII and XVI do you think deserves the music box treatment? Or perhaps there’s a theme from another game you’d like to see added to the collection?
