Digital Foundry followed up with an Xbox Series comparison for Final Fantasy VII Remake, highlighting how well it runs on the platform:
Xbox Series X delivers visuals and performance that closely match the PlayStation 5 version.
Performance mode on Series X runs at around 1512p targeting 60fps, with a native 4K 30fps graphics mode also available.
Xbox Series S uses the same high-quality texture assets as Series X and PlayStation 5.
Despite having less available memory (approx. 8GB), Series S avoids the lower resolution textures seen on Switch 2 (which has 9GB).
Series S offers a 1080p 60fps performance mode and a 1440p 30fps graphics mode.
Shadow quality on Series S is significantly higher than the PS4 version but remains below PS5 and Series X.
NPC draw distance on Series S matches PS5 and Series X.
Both Xbox consoles benefit from fast loading, including area transitions, fast travel, and reloads after death.
Digital Foundry suggests texture streaming efficiency, rather than total memory size, as the likely reason for Series S maintaining full asset quality.
Overall, the Xbox release is described as technically solid, with Series S delivering a better than expected visual presentation.
