Naoki Hamaguchi Open to Standalone Queen's Blood Game After Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy

A standalone Queen’s Blood game could become a reality after the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy concludes. In an interview with French YouTuber Mistermv, Naoki Hamaguchi explained that Square Enix had not pursued a separate release in order to keep development resources focused on Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
"There are an enormous number of people who tell us—whether it be users or people like you who work in the media—'why don't you release it on its own?' The reason why we didn't immediately decide to do that [A standalone Queen's Blood] is quite simple: we really want to pour all of our development resources into Final Fantasy VII Revelation. In order not to disperse our development resources—this is the same for the Rebirth DLC, and it's the same for Queen's Blood—I tried to avoid thinking about the possibility of those things [becoming standalone]."
However, with the final installment of the trilogy getting closer, Hamaguchi seems more open to the idea of a standalone release.
"Now that the end is in sight, if there are many people who really want a standalone Queen's Blood game, I would be very open to considering it."
"If such a project were to move forward after the trilogy concludes, it might not be handled by Studio 1, but could instead be assigned to a smaller studio under my supervision."
In the meantime, fans can look forward to the improved version of the card game in Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
