During the live event series FYNG (Find Your Next Game), hosted by Germany’s major gaming sites GameStar, GamePro, and MeinMMO during gamescom 2026, Naoki Hamaguchi appeared in one of the guest segments to offer a deep dive covering new characters, Revelation as a remake, and the German-language version of the game.
While the majority of the information from the interview had already been mentioned on multiple occasions, Hamaguchi revealed a little bit more regarding Vincent’s role in Final Fantasy VII Revelation:
"I also really do feel Vincent is a very popular character among the fans."
"I know the fans of Vincent want to see quite a bit about his character, who he is, what his background is like. I think one interesting thing about Vincent is that, unlike the other optional character, Yuffie, his hometown, where he comes from, wasn’t actually shown in the original Final Fantasy VII."
"So Vincent obviously is an ex-member of the Turks. People know about some of his background, but rest assured that in Revelation we go even deeper into his backstory, and there will be some new reveals about things that he did in the past and on what made him as a character that the people have never seen before. So I think for people who are looking to go even deeper into Vincent Valentine and want to see that character more, we really have got the game in just the right place, and I can't wait to see people experience that."
