Final Fantasy VII Revelation Adds More Guidance for Open-World Newcomers, Customization Under Consideration
Naoki Hamaguchi has revealed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation features more on-screen guidance than previous games in the series, with the aim of making its open world easier to navigate for players who are less familiar with the genre.
The guidance is designed to lead players naturally through the world as it gradually opens up, introducing new areas to discover and additional activities along the way.
However, feedback from experienced open-world players has suggested that the amount of guidance can sometimes feel too strong. Because of this, the team is considering options that would let players customize how the guidance is displayed.

FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION, the climactic conclusion of the series, will release for PS5 consoles, Nintendo Switch 2, XBOX Series X|S and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and XBOX PC, in Spring 2027.
