Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade are coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC with Xbox Play Anywhere support. This decision is part of the company’s effort to “aggressively pursue a multiplatform strategy.”
Final Fantasy XVI is available digitally starting June 8, 2025, as the Complete Edition, which includes the DLC chapters Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide at a discounted price. The game supports cross-save and cross-entitlement across console, PC, and cloud. A free demo for Xbox Series X|S is also available, with save data carrying over to the full game. Purchasing the game grants in-game items including the Blood Sword and Cait Sith’s Charm.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the expanded edition of the original remake with an additional Yuffie story arc, will launch digitally on Xbox Series X|S and PC in Winter 2025. The game originally launched on PlayStation 4 five years ago and has since been released on PlayStation 5 and PC. Its Xbox debut will likely happen alongside a simultaneous release on Switch 2.
