Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World Android Test Announced for May 23 in China

Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World

Final Fantasy XIV Mobile, known as Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World in China, is set to launch its Chinese version in June 2025. This follows its official announcement by Square Enix in August 2024 and the release of a reveal trailer in November. iOS pre-registrations in China began in April.

Before the full release, Square Enix and Tencent Games will hold a technical test for Android users in China, starting on May 23, 2025. Sign-ups for this limited and confidential test are open until May 22. The test will include paid content, and players will need to log in with either a QQ or WeChat account.

A global launch date hasn’t been confirmed yet, but Square Enix previously said it would follow “soon after” the Chinese release. Since both the Chinese and English versions were announced at the same time, a global launch is expected sometime in 2025.

Additionally, Lightspeed Studios has shared a few features that set the mobile version apart. Avatar customization will offer up to 16 dye channels, compared to just two in the PC and Console versions. An auto-pathing system will be added to make navigation easier. All jobs will have a dodge skill, and the combat system will stay close to the PC version, with multiple on-screen skills and cooldowns.
