During the G-Star 2024 panel, Naoki Hamaguchi and Yoshinori Kitase shared new insights into the third entry of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. Speaking at the session titled “Final Fantasy VII: The Challenges of Creating a Timeless Game and Its Remake Project,” the developers confirmed that the plot and concept for the final installment are complete, with the team already advancing in production.
While the overall concept remains undisclosed, Hamaguchi highlighted the ambitious direction for exploration. Referring to the introduction of the iconic Highwind airship, he stated, "We will not take shortcuts. The airship will allow free exploration across the map." This marks a significant step in bringing the open-world mechanics of the original game into the remake series.

Hamaguchi further explained that the goal is to let players experience the game world from a higher perspective, enhancing the sense of scale and freedom. He emphasized the team’s commitment to delivering an authentic and immersive experience without compromising on quality.
