Announced at MagicCon Atlanta 2025, the holiday wave of the Final Fantasy x Magic: The Gathering collaboration is now out. The lineup includes five items, or six in the United States. The most popular item was the Chocobo Bundle, which sold out very quickly. There are also four Scene Boxes themed around Final Fantasy I, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy IX and Final Fantasy XV. The Final Fantasy VII Commander Deck Game Edition is the last item in the lineup and includes a Steam code for the original Final Fantasy VII PC version, but this one is limited to the US.
The Chocobo Bundle includes ten Play Boosters, landmark basic lands in foil and non foil, ten foil Chocobo track lands, two borderless Chocobo cards, a foil Paradise Chocobo promo, one card from the Scene Boxes and a themed click wheel for 109.99 dollars.
Each Scene Box is priced at 41.99 dollars and features six cards that form one full piece of artwork, six art cards for display, three Final Fantasy Play Boosters and an easel. The size surprised me. I expected something closer to a Commander Deck, but the Scene Boxes are about four times larger while still being lighter. The difference is very visible next to the Chocobo Bundle.
After the Secret Lairs and now the holiday release, I don't know if more content will still follow. My wallet is hoping this is the end for now. 😅
