Yesterday my big Magic the Gathering Final Fantasy delivery finally arrived. I got two packages, one from Amazon and one from the German TCG shop Trader. I was really looking forward to streaming the full unboxing. It’s the first time in 15 to 20 years that I held Magic cards again, and the first time I ever bought any 😅
What did I buy?
- Prerelease Pack
- Bundle
- Starter Kit
- Play Booster Display (30 packs)
- Collector Booster Display (12 packs)
- Commander Deck Set (4 decks)
- Commander Deck Set Collector's Edition (4 decks)
During the 3 hour stream we opened 15 collector boosters and 16 play boosters. Big thanks to everyone who joined and chatted with me during the stream! ❤️
We pulled some great cards. Four full foil Vanille cards showed up, which made me laugh. 😅 I also got many Full Art cards, some Amano Artworks, the mystic rare Buster Sword, two mythic rare Sephiroth cards, and the mythic rare Lightning card I was hoping for 😊
A fun surprise were the Final Fantasy artwork cards, which sometimes appear instead of a token. There are 53 total. I pulled 5 of them, including one with a signed artist stamp.
Also strange: while I didn’t find the infamous German Tidus card, one German pack had an English Lightning inside 😂 No idea if that was intentional.
It was a really fun experience. I still have some boosters left, so I’ll start next Saturday’s stream with those! 😊
Did you get anything from the MTG Final Fantasy collab? What were your highlights?
P.S. Thanks for nothing Amazon. Throwing items worth 4 digits into a box with zero protection is a slap in the face to collectors. Never again. 0 stars.
