Naoki Hamaguchi shared new details in a Game*Spark interview, focusing on post game content, Snowboard, customization, and visual design.
Post-game content is being treated as a major part of the experience. Instead of relying mainly on replaying chapters, the game pushes players into continued exploration after finishing the story. High difficulty content is also part of this, including returning elements like Weapons and other optional challenges that sit beyond the final boss in terms of strength.
"This time, we have prepared a great deal of content that is much stronger than the final boss, such as the Weapons and what many players are probably expecting, Knights of the Round."

Snowboard also returns, and it is not just a Gold Saucer minigame. Like in the original, Snowboard appears in a dedicated story segment and is integrated into the main narrative instead of being optional content.
"Snowboard is naturally included as a minigame playable at the Gold Saucer, but it is not only that."
"We have prepared a story setting worthy of how iconic Snowboard is within Final Fantasy VII as a whole."
On the customization side, character appearance is handled separately from combat builds. The FITS system affects abilities and playstyle, but skins are fully independent. That means players can keep their preferred visual style regardless of what job setup they are using. Returning costumes from earlier entries are included, such as Tifa’s swimsuit outfit.

The logo and promotional visuals lean heavily into Final Fantasy VII history. The logo design pulls from established visuals like Materia and Holy, while the new character artwork featuring Cloud, Aerith, and Sephiroth is intentionally styled as a nod to the original PlayStation-era presentation.
