Final Fantasy IX Featured in NHK’s Symphonic Gamers 5 Broadcast

NHK has announced that Symphonic Gamers 5: Melodies of an Adventure Beyond Time will air on December 29, 2025, at 22:30 JST on BSP4K and January 2, 2026, at 22:30 JST on BS.
The program features Final Fantasy IX with five orchestral arrangements:
Swords of Fury
Over the Hill
Battle 1
Something to Protect
FINAL FANTASY
The music is performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Hirofumi Kurita. The program runs for 89 minutes, with 11 full pieces recorded during the public session showcased uncut. Alongside Final Fantasy IX, music from other titles such as Okami and Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin will also be featured.
