YouTube Channel Boundary Break Highlights Removed Easter Egg in Final Fantasy X HD Remaster

Boundary Break, a YouTube channel known for exploring hidden and out-of-bounds details in video games, has shown that Final Fantasy X HD Remaster no longer includes a specific Easter Egg from the original PlayStation 2 release.
In the PS2 release, Tidus’s Zanarkand room contained a blurred photo frame displaying concept art from “Seventeen Angelic Impact x Devil’s Shock,” the early prototype that would eventually become Final Fantasy X.
The frame served as a subtle reference to the prototype’s concept, which centered on a protagonist seeking a cure for a fatal age-17 disease alongside a healer whose actions caused the illness to spread. Tidus’s design in the final game drew elements from this prototype character and the beta footage presented at the 2000 Square Millennium Event.
In the HD Remaster, the blurred frame was replaced with an unrelated, new image of two persons. The change removed the original prototype reference from all modern versions, and no other “Seventeen” nods remain in the remaster.
