Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World, which began its rollout in China in 2025, was originally planned for a global release “soon after”. According to Naoki Yoshida, the project was positioned as a separate experience from the main game and developed independently, described as a “sister title” and a “new way to experience the story.”
The mobile version initially received updates that included new hairstyles, mounts, and other cosmetic and gameplay content. The last known major update was released last November, after which no further updates have been provided. Since then, the project has had no official communication, resulting in a long period of silence around its development status.
Now, another bad sign has emerged, as Reddit user Aqualenne recently pointed out that the official mobile website has been inaccessible for over a week, with the site now leading to an error page.
With no updates and the persisting website outage, the project is increasingly viewed as unlikely to receive a global release.
