To No One's Surprise, You Can Reach Level 99 in Final Fantasy VII Revelation

Naoki Hamaguchi, in an interview with Everyeye.it, again discussed the endgame of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which focuses on completing remaining world map content after finishing the main story rather than relying on a Hard Mode replay structure. This includes fighting Weapons and enemies stronger than the final boss.

He also confirmed that, unlike Remake and Rebirth, the game removes the previous level cap system, allowing players, just like in the original 1997 release, to reach level 99.

“There will be Weapons and enemies even stronger than the final boss encountered in the story. Examples include the Weapons themselves or the beloved Knights of the Round. Instead of pushing the player to restart the game on Hard Mode, Revelation will encourage them to complete all remaining content on the world map after finishing the main story.
Another thing I wanted to add is that in Remake and Rebirth there was a [restricted] level cap, but in Revelation we won't have that limit: players will be able to reach all the way up to level 99.“
