PS4 – It Takes Two: A Great Co-op Experience

After many people recommended this game to me because I'm a big co-op fan, I finally gave it a try a few months ago. I found it for a really good price and ended up finishing it with my wife not long after buying it.

It Takes Two is a co-op-only action-adventure platformer. Released in 2021 on all major platforms, the game supports both local and online multiplayer. It received widespread praise and even won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2021.

The story follows a couple on the verge of separation who are magically turned into dolls. Guided by a lively therapy book, they must work together through a playful and emotional journey that takes them across creative environments connected to their shared memories. The story blends humor, heart, and teamwork, offering an interesting take on love and partnership.

Built entirely for two players, It Takes Two mixes action and platforming with constantly changing gameplay. Each level introduces new co-op mechanics and challenges that require real teamwork. With split-screen play and a variety of surprises, it offers a fun and inventive multiplayer experience.

In the end, not only did my wife and I love the experience, but even our 3-year-old son enjoyed watching us play. I can fully recommend this game to any co-op enthusiast. Now we're just waiting for a price drop on the studio’s latest co-op hit, Split Fiction. In the meantime, we’re planning to finally try A Way Out, which I bought digitally a long time ago. 😅
