Naoki Hamaguchi Confirms New English Voice Actor for Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII Revelation

Final Fantasy VII Revelation will feature a new English voice actor for Sephiroth. The change was first addressed by Naoki Hamaguchi during an interview on Maximilian Dood's YouTube channel shortly after the game's reveal at Summer Game Fest 2026.

Fans quickly noticed that Sephiroth sounded different in the announcement trailer. When asked directly by Dood, Hamaguchi confirmed the recast was intentional, explaining that the previous actor, Tyler Hoechlin, was unable to return.

While Hamaguchi did not name the replacement on the stream, it has since been confirmed that Travis Willingham has taken over the iconic role.

Willingham is no stranger to Square Enix projects. He previously voiced Ryid Uruk in Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and Aced in the Kingdom Hearts series.
