Kuja Joins Dissidia Duellum on September 29, New Season “Until the Final Curtain”
New information for Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy was announced during the latest official livestream, hosted by Kasumi Ashizawa with guests Producer Naoya Matsumoto, Planner Yuki Mizuno, and Creative Producer Tetsuya Nomura.
Following character balance adjustments will be implemented during the September 29 maintenance.
Kuja from Final Fantasy IX is the next new Ghost and arrives on September 29, 2026.
He can be unlocked for free as a Season Reward in the new season “Until the Final Curtain,” with new Sealed Ability Crystals also being added. His exclusive UR abilities include “Trance” (illustrated by Rina Yoshiura) and “Flare Star” (illustrated by Toshiyuki Itahana).
Additional new UR abilities are “Vivi/Focus Thundaga” (illustrated by Satoshi Kuramochi) and “Garnet/Princess’s Resolve” (illustrated by Reo Obata). A new limited-time Memoria, “The Thief and the Princess,” also arrives. As always, this ability can only be equipped in the Support slot. Zidane’s new style, “Stellazzio’s Scion,” is coming from October 12 to October 26.
Special Final Fantasy IX-themed missions, “Festival of the Hunt,” will also be available during the season. Part 1 is a three-round Monster Defeat Mission with Shared Job Medals. Part 2 changes the Community Weekly Mission Tier 1 reward to a UR Draw Ticket, for up to 24 tickets over three weeks.
