Final Fantasy XIV Team Addresses Nintendo Switch 2 Loading Issues in Instanced Duties

The Final Fantasy XIV development team has acknowledged a loading issue affecting the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game. The problem can cause longer than usual loading screens whenever the display fades to black during instanced duties.
The delay is especially noticeable in the following situations:
・When the screen fades to black during a battle phase transition or when teleporting to a different map in an instanced duty
・When the screen fades to black upon reviving after being K.O.'d in an instanced duty
・When the screen fades to black upon using Return or a shortcut in an instanced duty
According to the development team, the investigation identified cases where both the data reloading and cache clearing processes required for safe rendering were taking longer than expected. These processes have now been optimized to improve loading speeds under the same conditions.
The updated version is currently undergoing testing, and the developers are working to release the patch as soon as possible. The upcoming update is also planned to address several additional issues beyond the loading problem.
