Final Fantasy XIV’s Same-Region Player Matching Goes Live in Japan With Patch 7.57
Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.57 introduces same-region player matching to the Japanese data centers, allowing players across Elemental, Gaia, Mana, and Meteor to use matchmaking and party recruitment together, regardless of their current World.
The feature was first announced at Fan Festival 2026 in Berlin and went live on October 13, 2026, following a scheduled 24-hour maintenance period.
Previously, matchmaking and party recruitment were limited to players within the same logical data center. With same-region matching, players can now use these features across all logical data centers within the same physical data center. The change also extends several social features across these data centers, including Cross-world Linkshells, PvP Teams, Fellowships, and Free Company chat.
Square Enix plans to bring same-region player matching to other regions in the future, once the system is confirmed to be working well in Japan.
