Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold during the Fan Festival 2026 keynote in Anaheim, with a planned release in January 2027.
The expansion kicks off a new story arc titled “The Godless Realms,” set after the events of Endwalker and following the conclusion of the Dawntrail storyline. Players will journey to the Fourth Reflection of the Source, a ruined world overtaken by ever spreading ice.
The presentation featured a frozen themed setting with diverse environments, early concept art, large mysterious entities called “Arcane Giants,” and teases of new characters and possible new races, including a cat like figure. It also briefly referenced story elements involving a figure known as “The Wanderer,” while leaving many details for future reveals.
