Square Enix has announced that support for Final Fantasy XIV on Windows 10 will officially end on October 14, 2025. This follows Microsoft’s planned termination of support and security updates for the operating system on the same date.
After support ends, the game may still be playable on Windows 10, but players should not expect official assistance for issues related to that OS. Technical support may be provided informally and only on a case-by-case basis, with no guarantees.
FINAL FANTASY XIV support for Windows® 10 will end on October 14, 2025.
Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for PCs running Windows® 10 after October 14, 2025 so we have found that continuing support for this operating system is a difficult proposition.
You will likely be able to play FINAL FANTASY XIV on Windows® 10 systems even after the end of support. However, after we discontinue support, we will as a general rule no longer be able to provide support for problems arising as a result of the operating system.
Square Enix may respond to requests for technical support regarding Windows® 10 issues after the end of support, but such informal support will be limited, on a case-by-case basis, and is not guaranteed.
In addition, to accompany this change, the OS/CPU requirements for the Windows® version will be updated on October 14, 2025. Please see below for the updated requirements.
Square Enix recommends players review their OS and system setup in advance of the October deadline to ensure continued compatibility with the game and future updates.
