Final Fantasy XI: Unlimited Free Trial and Level 75 Cap Increase Targeted for September 2026

During the August 22 A.M.A.N. Live broadcast (courtesy of Minthara on Resetera and Hikiri on Reddit), Final Fantasy XI producer and director Yoji Fujito discussed the major expansion of its free trial, including an increase to the level cap and the removal of its current 14-day playtime limit.
The trial level cap will increase from 50 to 75 with the regular September version update. Removing the 14-day limit requires separate server maintenance because the system handling the time limit is separate from the Final Fantasy XI game. That maintenance is also planned for September, although the two changes may not happen at the same time. September is currently a target rather than a confirmed release date.
The available jobs will remain limited to Warrior, Monk, White Mage, Black Mage, Red Mage and Thief at the start. Paladin, Beastmaster, Dark Knight, Bard, Ranger and Summoner can be unlocked after reaching level 30 and completing the required quests. Summoner will still require expansion content for access to all summons and its Artifact Armor.

No item trading or bazaar usage

World Transfer Service unavailable
Mentor status unavailable
Unity Concord unavailable
The planned changes will make Final Fantasy XI's free trial closer to the unlimited playtime model already used for Final Fantasy XIV.
