Final Fantasy VII Revelation Currently Expected to Receive Mature 17+ Rating

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is currently listed on the Xbox Store with a pending ESRB rating of “Likely Mature 17+.” This differs from Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which both received T for Teen ratings.

The ESRB defines the Mature 17+ rating as follows:

"Content is generally suitable for ages 17 and up. May contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language."

Cid's expanded role as a permanent playable party member has already led to plenty of speculation among fans, especially since his swearing was significantly toned down in Rebirth compared with his original characterization. 

The Highwind scene involving Cloud and Tifa has also become a major subject of speculation among fans.
