FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS will shut down on October 6, 2026, at 11:00 PM PDT. Before then, the game will receive its final planned updates, including the first ever worldwide release of Before Crisis -FINAL FANTASY VII- across three chapters.
The shutdown was announced on July 8, and sales of paid Red Crystals ended immediately. Players can still use any existing Red Crystals until the service ends, and in game events and updates will continue to roll out over the coming months.
Here's the final roadmap:
July: Chapter 1 of Before Crisis + Beach Festival Fun event.
August: Chapter 2 of Before Crisis, FFVII Chapter 12, and another event.
September: Chapter 3 of Before Crisis, the 3rd Anniversary Tower event, a general event, and the conclusion of both the original FFVII storyline and the Before Crisis storyline.

This three chapter release marks the first official worldwide release of Before Crisis, giving players outside Japan a chance to experience the classic mobile title's story before the game goes offline.
New Steam downloads stopped on July 7, but anyone who already has the game installed can continue playing until October 6. Refunds for unused paid Red Crystals will only be available to Taiwan residents. Once all end of service procedures are completed, player account information will be deleted.
The announcement does not mention any plans for an offline version after shutdown.
