Final Fantasy XIV Gifting Feature Updated with Expanded Item Support

Square Enix has updated the FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Store “Buy for a Friend” feature as of April 2, 2026, allowing more optional items to be gifted to friends.
The update applies to seven item categories:
Mounts (Single Character)
Minions (Single Character)
Emotes
Orchestrion Rolls
Face Paint
Chocobo Barding
Fashion Accessories
What is the gifting feature?
The gifting feature is a feature available on the FINAL FANTASY Online Store. The feature allows you to purchase certain items as a gift for friends on your friend list and automatically deliver them via the moogle delivery service on your behalf.
* Items that can only be used once per character have been excluded from the gifting feature.
The gifting feature was reworked in October 2022 following confirmed cases of fraud, including stolen credit card use and resale of gifted items. The current system retains those countermeasures.
