FFVII Rebirth Material Ultimania and FFIX Picture Book Confirmed for English Release in 2026

Square Enix has announced English-language editions of two Final Fantasy books that were previously only available in Japan. Both are planned for release in 2026.
The Final Fantasy IX Picture Book will be released in English in May 2026. Written by FFIX event designer Kazuhiko Aoki and illustrated by character designer Toshiyuki Itahana, this hardcover storybook focuses on Vivi and his time with Grandpa Quan. After being pulled from the ocean, Vivi is raised by Quan, a gourmand who first mistook him for food but eventually decides to teach him about life. The book is 48 pages long and will be priced at €16.99 / $17.99. Preorders are open on the Square Enix Store, with listings at major retailers expected in August 2025.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Material Ultimania is also getting an English release in July 2026. First published in Japan in December 2024, this 208-page hardcover art book features production and CG materials from FFVII Rebirth, including character models, backgrounds, weapons, enemies, cutscene storyboards, and development notes. It also includes staff commentary. The book will sell for €34.99 / $39.99. Preorders are available now on the Square Enix Store, with wider availability coming in October 2025.
