Bricks set - Chocobo (MOC 25962)

Some time ago I mentioned that I was always on the lookout for bootleg items to show you. I am not searching for alternatives to official merchandise, I am just curious what cheap, unofficial merchandise offers.

Today’s item is especially cheap. For just 3 euros I bought this bricks set. It is hard not to say Lego sometimes. 😅 My son had to suffer building it with me, but we had fun. The set came not in a box but in a plastic zip bag. Inside were smaller bags with the blocks and one folded sheet for instructions. The instructions are okay, but some steps could be clearer. There are many pictures which sometimes make you lose track. My four year old, who thinks he is a little Lego master builder, had some trouble following them.

The plastic is harder than original Lego and the pieces do not fit as precisely. Still, he built the 110 piece set quickly with a little help. I expected it to be wobbly but it is surprisingly stable and looks great on my office shelf. I am thinking of dedicating one shelf just to bootleg merch. 😅

If you ignore the small flaws and look at the price, this set is a fun buy for something just for fun. I have another set from a different brand ready to post later. Stay tuned if you like these posts.
