War of the Visions Final Fantasy Brave Exvius to End Service on May 28, 2026

Square Enix has announced that War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius will end service on May 28, 2026 at 12:00 PM JST. The announcement was made via the official account, alongside a message from the development team. The game launched in November 2019 in Japan and will conclude after more than six years of operation. The global version previously ended service on May 30, 2025.
According to the official statement, the decision was made after determining that continuing to provide a satisfactory service would no longer be possible.
“Since the start of service, we have worked every day to provide a better experience, but we have come to the conclusion that it will be difficult to continue delivering a service that satisfies our customers.”
Until the shutdown date, the game will enter a final phase titled “Grand Finale,” which will run for approximately two months. During this period, in-game events will continue to receive updates, alongside additional in-game and external campaigns. A dedicated website has been launched outlining the finale roadmap.
The development team also considered releasing an offline version to preserve the game, but this was deemed unfeasible due to its reliance on online systems such as battles, guild features, and player interaction. Instead, Square Enix is preparing alternative preservation content, including special videos revisiting the story.
A “Memorial Archives” book is also scheduled for release on May 14, 2026. The book will include approximately 700 illustrations, along with unpublished scenarios, story archives, and setting materials, covering the game’s content through its final update.
