Tetsuya Nomura Hopes Final Fantasy Record Keeper Reaches Its 16th Anniversary
Final Fantasy Record Keeper is celebrating its 12th anniversary, with Tetsuya Nomura sharing a special message to mark the occasion. In the message, Nomura thanked both the players and the staff responsible for keeping the game running for so many years. He also reflected on the game's origins in Final Fantasy Airborne Brigade and says he hopes the game can continue until at least its 16th anniversary.
The English translation of Nomura's message was provided by Audrey (@aitaikimochi):
“I think that Final Fantasy Record Keeper was able to reach its 12th anniversary thanks to all the players and of course, to the staff who created a way to have the game last for the long term and continue to run it with such care and dedication. Thank you all so very much.
Thinking back on it, everything started from the phone game ‘Brigade.’ Is there anyone out there who remembers that game? Although the title sustained for 8 years, we unfortunately had to pull the plug on it once the smartphone era of games came around. In fact, ‘Record Keeper’ was in development for that exact smartphone era and launched two years after the end of ‘Brigade.’
‘Record Keeper’ was able to live through the phone era and endured the dawn of smartphone games, and even today, remains a beloved title. I personally feel like the game carries the spirit of ‘Brigade’ as well!
If that’s the case, we have to work twice as hard! So twice of 8 years would be 16 years, which means we must ensure the game can least last until its 16th Anniversary!
With that being said, we will continue to do our best so you can stick with us for many years to come. We hope you can continue to support us!”
