Square Enix has announced a temporary pause on some new merchandise pre-orders from its North American online store. Square Enix cited international tariff uncertainties as the reason for this change, which took effect on April 9, 2025.
Some products available for pre-order in the Japanese and European Square Enix Stores are currently missing from the North American version. While no specific items have been officially named by Square Enix, items such as the Final Fantasy XIII Good Smile Company Scale Figurine of Lightning which are currently listed for pre-order on the Japanese and European Square Enix Stores, do not appear on the NA version.
The announcement "New Merchandise Pre-Orders are on pause, Click for details." appears as a banner at the top of the Square Enix Store, redirecting users to a merchandise page with further details.
"Effective April 9, 2025: In light of ongoing international tariff uncertainties, we have decided to temporarily pause some new merchandise pre-orders. We appreciate your understanding and support."
No additional clarification has been provided regarding the affected merchandise or when availability will be restored on the North American site.
