Sephiroth joins Dissidia Duellum on May 26, Roadmap Teases Next “Ghosts” from FFX, FFVI & FFV

The latest information for Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy was revealed during the official livestream. The stream covered the finals of the first offline beta tournament and shared the latest game updates. It was hosted by Kunihiko Ebie with guest Arthur Lounsbery, Producer Naoya Matsumoto, and development staff Yuki Mizuno.
The broadcast highlighted several upcoming features. A new item called the Golden Hourglass will be added, allowing players to shorten the remaining time on Sealed Crystals. A new rank called Ultima will also be introduced to make post-reset battles more enjoyable. New challenges are coming to Challenge Battles, where clearing them will grant exclusive UR rewards. The Friend Invite Event is launching soon, giving players the chance to earn up to 9,999 MogPay Points by inviting friends. The team also confirmed they will continue making improvements to enhance overall playability.
Sephiroth descends on May 26, 2026. He can be unlocked for free as a Season Reward, with new Sealed Ability Crystals added to the season as well. His "ultra-fast eight-hit combo Octaslash that slices through its target" was illustrated by Raita Kazama, while the "merciless comet that destroys all" Super Nova was illustrated by Tomomi Kobayashi.
A new Special Ability called Memoria will be added. This is a stat-boost focused ability that can only be equipped in the Support slot. Players can collect them during the new season to power up their characters. Two new UR abilities are also arriving: Aerith/Planet's Protection illustrated by teffish and Tifa/Falling Crane illustrated by Miki Yamashita. Starting at 11:00 (UTC), the Regular Character Selectable Ability Draw will become available so players can obtain an ability set for their favorite regular character.
While Sephiroth serves as the featured character for May, the character roadmap has revealed the next “Ghosts”: Final Fantasy X in June, Final Fantasy VI in July, and Final Fantasy V in August.
