Satoshi Kuramochi Leaves Square Enix Following Final Work on Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy

Illustrator Satoshi Kuramochi announced that he left Square Enix at the end of February 2026. While primarily known for his work on the SaGa series, Kuramochi also contributed to several Final Fantasy-related projects during his time at the company.
Within the Final Fantasy franchise, Kuramochi worked on background designs for World of Final Fantasy and its expanded release, World of Final Fantasy Maxima. He also contributed to the recently released mobile title Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy. Following his announcement, Kuramochi clarified that the illustration created to celebrate the launch of Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy marked his final contribution during his tenure at Square Enix.

He plans to keep creating illustrations and will be working freelance from here on.
