JR Central has announced a Final Fantasy VII collaboration in Nagoya as part of its Pushi Tabi campaign. The event will run from January 15 to April 15, 2026. The project includes original story content, location based activities, limited displays, and exclusive merchandise, all created with newly produced Final Fantasy VII material.
The campaign is built around an original prologue story. Cloud experiences a strange dream that blurs the line between reality and illusion, described as a story guided by the planet itself. While chasing Sephiroth, Cloud and his allies pass through an unknown spatial portal and arrive in an unfamiliar world. This marks the start of a new journey that is separate from the main game storyline.

The main feature of the collaboration is an original voice drama that can only be accessed while riding the Tokaido Shinkansen. The story features Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith, and Sephiroth, and was created exclusively for this campaign. This voice drama serves as the core storytelling element of the project.
A second original voice drama is linked to a digital stamp rally held in Nagoya. Participants unlock parts of the story by visiting several locations, with the narrative again focusing on Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and Sephiroth. Completing the rally rewards participants with a newly illustrated postcard that includes an additional secret voice, expanding the story beyond the train experience.
As part of the promotion, Final Fantasy VII themed digital signage will appear for a limited time at Nagoya Station and Tokyo Station. Both locations will display the same visuals and act as large scale public promotion for the collaboration in January 2026.
The campaign also includes original collaboration goods featuring exclusive illustrations made for the event. These items will be sold at selected locations in Nagoya during the campaign period, offering limited merchandise directly tied to the Pushi Tabi collaboration.
