First Permanent SQUARE ENIX Cafe & Shop in the U.S. Opens Today in Los Angeles

The officially licensed SQUARE ENIX Cafe & Shop LOS ANGELES opens today, June 13, marking the first permanent location of its kind in the United States.

Located in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, the venue combines themed dining with an attached merchandise space and is the result of a collaboration between Square Enix and Little Akihabara that began in 2024.

The cafe begins operations with a soft opening running from June 13 through June 19. During this period, visitors can enjoy a limited menu featuring themed drinks, entrees, and desserts inspired by franchises including Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and NieR: Automata. The grand opening is scheduled for June 20, when the full menu lineup will become available. Reservations can be made via the official Square Enix Cafe & Shop Los Angeles website.

Examples from the soft opening menu include the Midgar Fondue Pizza, Liquid Metal Slime Curry, and YoRHa No. 9 Type S Black Tortilla Roll. Square Enix also says that limited time collaborations featuring additional titles are planned for the future.

Alongside the dining area, the merchandise shop is open to all visitors regardless of reservation. It offers official Square Enix products, including launch-exclusive items created for the Los Angeles location such as the L.A. Chocobo & Slime T-Shirt and other commemorative merchandise tied to the opening.

Guests with lunch or dinner reservations will also receive exclusive novelty items, including a random placemat and coaster. During the soft opening period, five of the ten planned placemat designs will be available.
