Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.01 Introduces New Raids and Job Adjustments

Final Fantasy XIV has released Patch 7.01, just two weeks after the Dawntrail expansion. This update introduces the new Arcadion raid series, adding four fights, six quests, and various new cosmetics and gear. Alongside these additions, the patch brings significant changes to several jobs.
Among the significant changes are numerous job adjustments aimed at improving gameplay balance. The Viper class sees a notable enhancement with seven of its actions having their range increased from 3 to 5 yalms. This update provides more flexibility for players using the fast-paced Viper class, known for its duel blades and powerful attacks from specific positions. Further adjustments to Viper are expected in Patch 7.05.
In addition to the Viper, other classes have also seen changes. The Black Mage's Umbral Soul action now becomes available at level 35, down from 76, aiding in early MP recovery. The Red Mage's Manafication duration has been extended to 30 seconds from the previous 15, offering a longer window to utilize powerful attacks. Samurai players will notice reduced recast times for Tendo Kaeshi Setsugekka and Tendo Setsugekka, now at 2.5 seconds instead of 3.2.
Tank roles, including Paladin, Warrior, Dark Knight, and Gunbreaker, now generate more enmity with multiple attacks. This change should make dungeon runs and trials smoother by ensuring that enemies focus more consistently on the tanks. Specific actions affected include Shadowstride, Stalwart Soul, Unleash, Demon Slaughter, Demon Slice, and Trajectory.
The Square Enix development team is currently refining the game's balance and preparing for additional changes in the upcoming 7.05 patch. This update will also include The Arcadion (Savage) and the treasure hunt dungeon Cenote Ja Ja Gural.
