Sony Interactive Entertainment celebrated its 30th anniversary on December 3, 2024, with the PlayStation Partner Awards Japan Asia. The event recognized outstanding titles released between October 2023 and September 2024, as well as iconic games from the past three decades of PlayStation history.
Grand Award winners included Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree and Black Myth: Wukong, recognizing these games for their exceptional worldwide sales.
Naoki Hamaguchi shared his thoughts on the award:
“I am thrilled that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was chosen for the Grand Award – which is only awarded to the top three Japanese/Asian titles with the highest worldwide sales – especially since Final Fantasy VII Remake received the same honor. I am truly grateful to the many fans who have supported this game and made it possible for us to receive this esteemed award.
The Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy will finally conclude with the next installment. The team is working incredibly hard to make it a rewarding finale, so we hope that you will continue to support us.”
PlayStation Generations Awards highlighted iconic titles from each console generation. Final Fantasy games were honored twice: Final Fantasy VII for the original PlayStation and Final Fantasy X for the PlayStation 2.
The Users’ Choice Award also recognized Final Fantasy VII Rebirth among the top five user-voted games based on gameplay time in the Japan/Asia region.
Other award categories included the Excellence Award (Genshin Impact), the Partner Award, and the Special Award. Notable winners included Dragon’s Dogma 2, Persona 3 Reload, and Stellar Blade.
