Bartz Joins Dissidia Duellum on August 25, New Boss Gilgamesh & Final Fantasy XIV Character Teased for October

New information for Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy was announced during the latest official livestream, hosted by Arthur Lounsbery with guests Composer Takafumi Imamura, Producer Naoya Matsumoto, Planner Yuki Mizuno, and Creative Producer Tetsuya Nomura.
Character balance adjustments will be implemented during the August 25 maintenance, with ability adjustments planned for late September.
Special Half Anniversary packs are also live in the DISSIDIA Web Shop, offering more bonus Free MogPay Points than the regular packs.
Bartz Klauser from Final Fantasy V arrives on August 25, 2026. He can be unlocked for free as a Season Reward in the new season “Bridging the Distance,” with new Sealed Ability Crystals also being added.
His exclusive UR abilities include “Dragon Cross-Slash” (illustrated by Yukihiro Kajimoto) and “Rapid Twin Thundaga Spellblade” (illustrated by Katsumi Enami).
Additional new UR abilities are “Boko/Chocobo Dash” and “Lenna & Faris/Tempting Tango.” Later in the season, “Shantotto/Stone” and “Shiva/Deep Chill” will also arrive.
A new limited-time Memoria, “Guided by the Wind,” also arrives. Krile’s new style, “Mog & Me!,” is coming in September.
A new stage, “Corrosion: Big Bridge,” and new boss “Gilgamesh” arrive after the August 25 maintenance.
Special Half Anniversary missions and a renewed Red Sealed Ability Crystal (guaranteed regular-character UR abilities) will also be available during the season.
To celebrate the Half Anniversary, players can claim one free 10 Ability Draw every day for 20 days, for up to 200 Free Draws.
While Bartz serves as the featured character for August, the stream also confirmed an upcoming “Ghost” from Final Fantasy XIV in October.
